Our commitment to social holiness is fundamental to our Wesleyan tradition, yet we often lack the knowledge and tools to become more engaged in our communities. This workshop will look at concrete strategies for community engagement with an emphasis on community organizing and justice ministries.
Justice for the Immigrants
Although our denomination has been in the forefront of national immigration reform, many local church members remain deeply skeptical about the call for legalization. This workshop would look at the realities of global migration that is changing our own denomination and why we, as people of faith, ought to support justice for migrants globally.
Can a Christian be married to a Buddhist?
Today we live in a much more religiously diverse world, where people of other faiths are our neighbors, our co-workers, and even our family members. This workshop would explore ways of navigating between Christianity’s truth claims and those of other religions as we interact with people of other faiths in our daily lives.
